If you like bling, sparkle or a little something extra, her designs are probably for you.

“One of the newest elements is the glitter combined with the rhinestones. The glitter has such a sparkle appeal,” said small business owner Angela Gard.

Her company is featured in a small business directory just published Monday by the Tampa Bay Host Committee — a list of registered businesses that’ll be promoted to out of town visitors and more.

Today is the launch of a much-anticipated directory designed to help Tampa area small businesses land work when the Republican National Convention rolls into town this summer.

The Tampa Bay Host Committee, a nonprofit group helping stage the convention, is launching an online version of its Small Business Network Directory, the first of its kind in the history of the political convention, said Matt Becker, the host committee’s chief operating officer.

Local organizers of the Republican National Convention Thursday put their brightest spotlight on the work of AT&T, one of their biggest donors.

To meet the convention’s voracious appetite for bandwidth, the communications giant is spending $15 million on nearly 500 upgrades around the Tampa Bay area. It’s adding more than 200 WiFi hot spots for the convention and is improving cell phone reception at 85 locations on both sides of Tampa Bay.
