Tampa Bay, FL (January 5, 2012) – The 2012 Tampa Bay Host Committee is holding an educational forum to inform local Tampa Bay small business owners and program participants on the guidelines and registration process of the Host Committee’s Small Business Network.

Forum I will take place on January 19, 2012 from 9:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. at Safety Harbor Resort and Spa, Safety Harbor, FL.

The emphasis of the Small Business Network is to use the platform of the Republican National Convention to drive interest to and promote Tampa Bay small business.  “We want to promote our Tampa Bay small business community and maximize their opportunities for exposure to the many corporations and convention attendees who will be coming to the Tampa Bay area this coming August,” said Host Committee President and CEO Ken Jones.

The Tampa Bay Host Committee is partnering in this effort with The Latino Coalition.  Hector V. Barreto, The Latino Coalition Chairman and former Administrator of the U.S. Small Business Administration will be one of the keynote speakers at Forum I.  “I look forward to meeting members of Tampa Bay’s small business community,” said Barreto.  “We are excited to be partnering with the Tampa Bay Host Committee on the Small Business Network.” Participants will also hear from Host Committee leadership, convention related contractors and representatives from local government certifying entities.
